Interpreting Listeria test results: Pathogen vs Indicator

Date: 20 May 2026 (Wednesday)
Time: 11am – 11.45am BST

Concerns regarding Listeria continue to be a priority for the food industry. Recent outbreaks of listeriosis associated with ready-to-heat meals in both Ireland and the USA, alongside ongoing reports of incidents involving ready-to-eat foods, underline the importance of robust food safety controls. Testing both food and environmental samples for Listeria spp., as well as for the pathogenic Listeria monocytogenes, is common practice.

In this webinar, we will examine the varying significance of these results and how they should be interpreted. We will also discuss the types of food products most impacted and what constitutes an appropriate response to an adverse result.
