Eurofins Food Testing UK is pleased to announce the expansion of its UK-based multi-mycotoxin testing capabilities. Building on our proven track record, this enhanced service brings testing fully in-house to our UKAS No. 0342 accredited Wolverhampton laboratory, reducing turnaround times, minimising environmental impact, and broadening the scope of regulated mycotoxins covered.
Historically, UK testing of mycotoxins involved subcontracting select analyses to our European centres of excellence. While this model ensured high-quality results, the new method allows for improved flexibility and control. By expanding our in-house portfolio from 5 to 11 regulated mycotoxins, we can now offer greater efficiency, faster logistics, and more sustainable service delivery.
What’s new?
-
Testing now delivered directly from our UK Wolverhampton laboratory.
-
Includes an expanded panel of 11 regulated mycotoxins
-
QuEChERS-based extraction and LC-MS/MS quantification
Accredited matrices include
-
Cereal grains and cereal-derived products
-
Dried powders for cereal-based infant food preparation
-
Cereal-based materials including wheat, maize, barley, oats, rice and rye for animal feedingstuffs
This development supports compliance with Retained EU Regulation (EC) No 1881/2006, which sets maximum levels for mycotoxins in food and feed products.
Bringing this analysis in-house allows for greater control over chain of custody, improved report rationalisation, and enhanced responsiveness to shifting mycotoxin profiles; increasingly important due to climate-driven changes in prevalence and distribution.
This improved service is part of Eurofins' ongoing commitment to providing scientifically robust, responsive and sustainable testing solutions across the UK food and feed industry.
