On 22 September 2025, the European Commission authorised genetically modified maize DP-051291-2. This GMO is both herbicide-tolerant and insect-resistant.
Authorisation Status of Genetically Modified DP-051291-2 belongs to a group of GMOs that cannot be detected using common screening methods such as 35S promoter or NOS terminator assays. To ensure reliable detection, our GMO competence centre in Germany, Eurofins GeneScan GmbH has developed the mo-pat gene assay, which also enables the specific identification of DP-051291-2.
The mo-pat gene assay is included in GMO screening packages CornScreen (PGS) and CornScreenPlus (PGS2H).
