Listeria | Upcoming EU legislation change

From 1 July 2026, EU Regulation 2024/2895 introduces a change to the criterion for Listeria monocytogenes in many ready-to-eat (RTE) foods. This legislation is an amendment to Regulation (EC) 2073/2005 and is being implemented to improve consumer safety across Europe.

Alert | Adulterated saffron detected in UK

The UK’s National Food Crime Unit has issued a warning about adulterated saffron containing undeclared synthetic colours and mislabelled grades. Eurofins Food Testing UK can offer both laboratory analysis and expert consultancy to support food businesses affected by this alert.

CBD | Update from the Food Standards Agency

CBD businesses with applications on the Food Standards Agency’s (FSA) Public List are being encouraged to reformulate food products to improve consumer safety. These are products that are currently on sale in England and Wales linked to a credible application submitted for authorisation to the FSA, and are not new to the market. Read the FSA article.

We offer a comprehensive range of FOSFA-approved tests, including acid value and free fatty acids (FFA), insoluble impurities, iodine value, conventional mass per volume (density), moisture and volatile matter, fatty acid profile and total phosphorus content (colorimetric).
