NMR profiling is a powerful technique that uses ¹H and/or ¹³C Nuclear Magnetic Resonance to generate highly reproducible spectral fingerprints of food and drink products. These fingerprints are compared against large reference databases using advanced chemometric models to detect deviations, verify authenticity, and quantify key components.
Through Eurofins Analytics France SAS, our Authenticity Competence Centre in France, we are able to offer a broad range of food authenticity testing using NMR profiling.
Food NMR profiling applications
We can apply this method to many foods and beverages including, but not limited to
-
Honey; Detect exogenous sugars, confirm declared botanical and/or geographical origin
-
Wine; Assess composition, grape variety, geographical origin, and vintage
-
Coffee; Distinguish between Arabica and Robusta, check origin claims
-
Fruit juice; Identify dilution, undeclared additions, or mislabelling
-
Olive oil; Confirm variety and detect adulteration
Advantages of using Eurofins NMR profiling
