Eurofins Food and Water Testing UK and Ireland has appointed a new Key Account Manager to drive sales and enhance customer service in its water hygiene and water testing business.

Suhail Bakawala joins the company after several years of industry experience working in senior business development and client relationship roles.

Working with customers nation-wide, Suhail said his intention was to “ensure excellence” in customer relationships.

He added: “A major current priority for Eurofins is to make sure its customers are provided with the best possible service. Previous roles have set me up well for that challenge and I’m really pleased to be joining them on that journey.

“I’ll be securing the foundations of the Waters business and building on that, growing the client base, and helping Eurofins as a whole grow in the way it continually improves customer relationships.”

Eurofins Food and Water Testing UK and Ireland is made up of nine world-class laboratories and is the world leader in food, feed and water testing, offering a comprehensive range of state-of-the-art analytical techniques to support customers' increasingly stringent quality standards.

It employs more than 300 people and has recently invested £1.5 million on a two-storey extension to its laboratory and head office in Wolverhampton and £7m overall in new laboratories and laboratory extensions.

The company’s water microbiology and water chemistry laboratories across the UK provide analysis to assess the safety of water in cooling towers, hot and cold water systems, closed systems and recreational waters such as swimming pools and spas, and the company recently received UKAS accreditation for water chemistry work.

Commercial Director, Ben Allison, said that appointing a Key Account Manager underlined the company’s commitment to focusing on business operations, ensuring even greater consistency and efficiency to clients.

Ben said: “I’m delighted we have been able to hire Suhail, who clearly has the essential expertise and pedigree in developing and maintaining positive customer bonds, which is exactly what we were looking for in order for us to meet and exceed our clients’ requirements going forward.”
