Pesticide residue testing scope expands
Following extensive investment in technology at its Wolverhampton food testing laboratory, Eurofins has extended the scope of its pesticide multi residue screen with an additional 54 compounds.
Eurofins is now able to quantify more than 400 targeted compounds, which include Ethirimol and Sethoxydim which are not routinely included in other multi residue screens.
As well as offering one of the largest test scopes for pesticide residue analysis, Eurofins has also increased the speed at which test results can be reported back to the customer, through the employment of ‘lean’ business thinking at the Wolverhampton site. Relatively new in the laboratory sector, ‘lean’ involves eliminating waste and increasing capacity, which helps result in faster turnaround times.
Anthony Rigby, Business Unit Manager Food Chemistry and Contaminants at Eurofins said:
“Pesticide residue is a fast moving area as retailers respond to consumer concerns about food provenance. Eurofins is recognised as a leader in this type of testing and we are continually investing in the latest technology and delivery of results through our on-line portal EOL to meet our customers’ requirements.”
